P&G Everyday Effect Program – What Can You Do To Make A Change?
P&G and SheSpeaks is coming together to bring you the P&G Everyday Effect Program! P&G believes the most effective changes don’t necessarily start with grand acts and can start much closer to home, by changing the way we think about things like waste. When we reduce, reuse, and recycle we are helping our planet and our environment for the greater good! I don’t know about you, but I want to keep our planet around for a very, very long time!
Small actions can make a difference! The P&G Everyday Effect Program is about getting everyone involved to change something in their lives to make that small difference! The program is not only for just you, but to get your whole family involved towards a goal!
For our Everyday Effect Program my fiance, step daughter, and I chose something different that we can do each to work towards our goal of preserving our environment. For me, I chose to wash clothes in cool water. I am constantly using hot water and warm water to was all of our clothes so starting today I am washing all clothes in cool water. I have already done 2 loads!
My fiance has decided he is going to start drinking tap water instead of buying water bottles. He bought his very own manly water bottle and he is using our Zuvo water filter to purify his water! Now this may be a small change, but we buy a pack of Ozarka or Nestle water bottles almost every week. That is 24 bottles every week. Multiply that by 52 weeks a year and we are saving 1248 bottles!
For my step daughter, we chose something a bit easy. Usually, she leaves all of the lights on in the house and forgets to turn them off. For her, we decided on conserving light and electricity. For every time she turns the light off in a room she was in without us having to ask, she gets a sticker. For every 25 stickers she earns, she gains a surprise. I think this was the best way to get her involved with rewarding her for saving our planet. Her goal is to make it to 100 stickers. If she can do this in the month of April, she will get a new game for Nintendo DSi!
So, what can you do to make a change? What is your goal?
